Description
Fiberoptic Intubation (FOI) is an effective technique for establishing airway access in patients with both anticipated and unanticipated difficult airways. It is mostly used in performing awake intubation as it is associated with fewer complications than awake laryngoscopy. It is a technique which allows a flexible oral and nasal route to provide a clear visualization of the vocal cords, and subsequent passage of an endotracheal tube into the trachea under vision. This video explains in detail about the theory and practice, troubles and also tricks during the fiberoptic intubation.
