Description
OPCAB surgery is a great advance in the operative treatment of coronary artery disease. The goal should be early extubation and patient safety. In OPCAB surgery, the role of the anesthesiologist in replacing the safety-net of cardiopulmonary bypass is crucial and implicates a thorough understanding of the procedure.As both surgical and anesthetic experience with OPCAB surgery increases, further refinements will be made that will enhance the safety and efficacy of this procedure.
