Description
A heart transplant is done to remove the diseased heart from a person and replace it with a healthy one from an organ donor. Anesthesia management for patients undergoing heart transplantation is demanding and frequently occurs on emergency basis because of unpredictable availability of organs. All heart transplant recipients are enrolled in a follow-up programme and recent information with respect to graft function, rejection status and coronary disease. This video describes introduction, indications, contraindications, preop assessment, premedications, hemodynamic monitoring, case studies and post operative care.
