Description
HELLP Syndrome is a rare pregnancy complication. It usually occurs during the third trimester of pregnancy. HELLP Syndrome stands for hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes and low platelet count. HELLP syndrome is a separate disorder from preeclampsia as patients may not have high blood pressure or proteinuria. There is no known cause of HELLP syndrome. Women who have preeclampsia and eclampsia have higher risk of HELLP Syndrome. This video explains in detail about HELLP syndrome, its pathology, diagnosis and management.
