Overview
Description
The lateral wall of the nose forms part of the nasal cavity and consists of bony and cartilaginous structures. Key bones include the nasal, maxilla, ethmoid (with superior and middle conchae), inferior nasal concha, palatine, lacrimal, and sphenoid. It features three nasal conchae creating meatuses (superior, middle, inferior) that drain paranasal sinuses and nasolacrimal duct. The wall is lined by respiratory mucosa and richly vascularized. It helps filter, warm, and humidify air, playing a crucial role in olfaction and respiration.
